The Royal Castle has long had a tradition of a rich musical life. The first opera performance in Poland took place here in the 17th century during the reign of King Władysław IV. A group of musicians was present at the royal court, mounting performances of operas by the greatest composers of the 17thcentury.
Today's concerts continue the traditions established by the court's earliest chamber musicians. Concerts dedicated to the music of Frederick Chopin are also held in the Castle.
