The Fryderyk Chopin Society was established in 1959. It is based in the White Swan Inn, renamed to Chopin-House due to efforts of Society board members. Already during the first year of the Society´s existence the Fryderyk Chopin Memorial Museum was opened. The most important activities of the Chopin Society include the annual International Chopin Festival and Piano Competition held every two years.
The promotion of music and memory of the great romantic composer plays a key role, as well as the task to propagate the admiration and respect to Chopin´s immortal music among young generation.
The Society is a member of the International Federation of Chopin Societies (IFCS).
