Description
On the first anniversary of Poland's accession to the EU the General Consulate of Poland in Barcelona and the Honorary Consulate of Poland in Palma are organizing Days of Polish Culture to be held from May 1st until May 8th. A concert, which will be held on May 8th at the Carthusian Monastery, will inaugurate the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the Chopin Festival in Valldemossa.

The opening concert of the Festival, which was held 74 years ago, on May 18th 1931, featured Spanish cellist Pau Casals and Polish pianist Mieczysław Horzowski, who performed Sonata, Op. 65 by Chopin. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Festival, two Polish artists - Krzysztof Jablonski and Tomasz Strahl - will interpret the same Sonata and works of composers who were included in the program 75 years back: Alexander Tansman and Manuel de Falla.
