Description
The city of Marienbad in Czech Republic invites for the 48th edition of Chopin Festival, which will be held from August 18 until August 25. As ever, the festival will feature artists from various parts of the world: Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Austria, Finland, Russia, France and Georgia. The festival will open with a concert featuring world-renowned Polish pianist Ewa Poblocka, who will be accompanied by the West Bohemian Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Radomil Eliska. The performers will also include, among others, Jean-Marc Luisada from France, Ingolf Wunder from Austria, Paavala Jumpanen from Finland, Anna Zassimova from Russia and laureate of last year's Chopin Competition in Marienbad Lucie Valcova from Czech Republic. Besides symphonic concerts, recitals and morning concerts there will be a wide range of other cultural events to choose from, such as an exhibit devoted to women in Frederick Chopin's life.
