Description
The Chopin Foundation of the United States is proud to continue their 2006-2007 Chopin Festival Season with a very special annual event that exemplifies the true mission of the Foundation, by presenting young and gifted pianists in the Young Pianists Concert on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 7:00 PM, at the Broward County Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale and on Sunday, March 25, 2006, 3:00 PM, at the Granada Presbyterian Church, 950 University Drive in Coral Gables. Admission to both concerts is FREE.
After reviewing recommendation letters from teachers, the Chopin Foundation has selected thirty-four remarkable young talents, seventeen from Broward County and seventeen from Miami-Dade County, to create two different all-Chopin programs played completely by fingers under the age of eighteen. These are exemplary students who have studied long and hard, with great diligence, who may actually appear in the future National Chopin Piano Competition coming up in 2010. These are young people who should be looked up to and admired in our own community.
